St Maries of the Isle enjoyed a hugely successful day at the Cork City Sports on June 1 at MTU.

On a sweltering day at the Bishopstown campus, St Maries of the Isle students brought home an impressive haul of silverware.

The school sent a full team of boys and girls, including boys and girls relay teams.

Sixth class student Rahman Adekunie came home in second place in the Boys Under 13 county final, having won his heat and quarter-final.

Rahman then anchored the boys relay team to come home in second place in their heat.

The girls relay team also competed superbly in the heat, while there were several other stand-out individual performances on what was a very enjoyable day.
